The Skeena River

Skeena River

The north west of British Columbia. Where Canada dazzles you with its natural beauty, where the lakes and rivers overwhelm you with their clarity and where wilderness is not just a buzz-word but all around you to be felt and experienced day in and out. And this is where some of the worlds best Salmon Rivers can be found. Among them the Skeena, a majestic river, left in its natural state, cleaving its way with primal force through the valleys of the coastal mountains to finally disembogue into the pacific ocean near Prince Rupert.

The Skeena-River-Region has always been the destination for demanding anglers that are not willing to let the nearly inexhaustible climb of salmon and steelhead trout pass them by. The Skeena can be rightfully labeled “World Class”, after all, on this river, the dreams of fishermen become reality. Our lodge is located right on the banks of the Skeena and you will be provided with a guiding-service for the duration of your whole stay without any additional charge.

The Copper River

Copper RiverThe copper river is renowned for its aggressive, feral Steelhead trout. Steelheads are famous for taking dry flies drawn on the water's surface. One of the best known samples is the bomber. But no matter which fishing-technique you prefer: the Copper river always offers you scenic beauty and fierce fish.

The Kalum River

Kalum River

The Kalum is the cradle of wild king salmon monsters. Some of the Skeena's biggest kings return to the Kalum. But the Kalum also features big runs of steelheads and cohos. 20 pound steelheads are nothing out of the ordinary and even 30 pounders have already been landed. The Kalum river also features a healthy population of dolly varden, cutthroat and bull trout. The Kalum flows out of the mountains north of Terrace into the Kalum Lake, then rushes through a turbulent canyon to finally empty into the Skeena west of Terrace. The canyon provides natural selection, making sure that only the strongest fish overcome its rapids. The Kalum is warmer and clearer than most other rivers because of the Kalum Lake, providing great opportunities in spring and fall. The Kalum can be easily fished out of a drift-boat. Both river and landscape are fantastic.

The Kitimat River

Kitimat River

The Kitimat is the refuge of beautiful salmon and steelheads and it features a good ocean run of Cutthroats and Dolly Varden as well. It also shows the biggest return of salmon shoals. Due to the early return of king salmon, successful fishing can be done as early as June. The Kitimat River flows out of the mountains south of Terrace into the Douglas Channel and from there into the open ocean. The Kitimat has only a very limited catchment area, runs mostly clear and offers excellent options almost year round. Not motorboats are permitted. There is no other place where the circle of life becomes so obvious as when peacefully floating down a river on a drift-boat, looking for a fish.

The Kasiks River

Kasiks River

The Kasiks has a great emergence of cohos, cutthroats and dolly varden. The great but remote river can be reached by jet-boat. Spectacular waterfalls, canyons and mountains lining the river's banks will leave you with unforgettable impressions. The river is a challenge and the drive on it a very special thrill. A coxswain with the necessary knowledge is highly recommended.

The Exchamsiks River

Exchamsiks RiverThe exchamsiks is a great coho- and trout-river. The upstream-adventure starts on the Skeena-River below 1000 feet high granite cliffs. It is a river, left in its natural state, embedded in a great landscape and featuring great fishing-opportunities.
